Greetings Hull!
We're collaborating with Hull School Library Service (HSLS), supported by the James Reckitt Library Trust, to deliver a city-wide literacy initiative for primary schools across Hull. The project culminates in a grand final at the Big Malarkey Festival on 26th June. Schools have received magazine taster packs, plus additional summer programming.
We are delighted to announce that the following schools and teams have made it through to the Hull City-Wide Quiz final, taking place on 26th June at the Big Malarkey Festival. Congratulations to all the teams who took part – the standard was incredibly high!
Biggin Hill Primary - Biggin It Up
Wansbeck Primary - Fantastic Comics
Spring Cottage Primary - 5T
Stepney Primary - The Space Diversity
Sidmouth Primary - Sidmouth Bookworms
Sutton Park Primary - The Einsteins
Bravo to the teams, and thank you to all the pupils and teachers who took part. We now look forward to seeing you at the festival for an action-packed, nail-biting championship to discover the champions of the Hull City-Wide Quiz!
WOW! What an astonishing final in the Big Top at the Big Malarkey Festival. The competition was incredibly close and the supporters louder than ever!
From the first round to the final moments, it was neck and neck, with just two points separating the teams after round one. Every participant should be proud of their contribution – from superfast answers to impressive knowledge of the magazines, it was clear minds were working at supersonic speed, skimming and scanning for answers.
There can, of course, only be one champion – congratulations to STEPNEY PRIMARY on their fantastic win. Bravo! We look forward to seeing them in London.
Well done also to Spring Cottage Primary as runners-up – their sportsmanship was outstanding. We hope all the teams enter the National Championship – they’ve shown they’re more than capable of winning.
